Subject: Adaptec 1540B problems
A friend of mine is having problems with the GUS and his Adaptec 1540B
SCSC controller card. He's getting DMA conflicts when running the GUS's
diagnostics, everytthing else checks out OK. His Adaptec is set to use
DMA 6 and the GUS is set to DMA 1. Anybody have any clue why there is a
conflict?
Thanx In Advance,
J.J.

Subject: Computer Speakers
I am looking for some speakers for my Computer System and I currently have
the Labtec SS-700s and they don't sound that great. Any ideas on Labtecs,
KOSS, AR, Altec Lansing, SONY's? I'm looking at the SONY SRS-D2K, SONY
SRS-D4K, AR (Acoustic Research) Powered Partners 570, AR (Acoustic
Research) Powered Partners 622, and Altec Lansing ACS-300, does anyone
have any comments on any of these? good or bad and would I be better off
getting a receiver and some bookshelf speakers? if so, which ones? Any
help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Cheers,
Vince

CoolEd records to disk, so you must not use any write caching or record
to a doublespaced (or stacked) drive. The caching and disk compression
will interfere with the direct to disk recording, causing all sorts of
data dropouts.

When I goto Gravutil, the cursor thing always jumps around for some reason,
how do you have the y axis and x axis on the FlightStick setup? I know games
that use the angle type of calibration. Hold to the upper left corner and then
hit any fire button and then hold to the lower right corner and then hit any
fire button always calibrate correctly but not games that use the either the
center block type of thing or the ones that is like the one in IndyCar Racing.

Hmmm. I thought it depends on the speed of the machine. I have a
486DX-2/66 EISA/VESA with 32 MEGS of RAM so it's very fast but what do you
mean by the 0.3?

I thought the Gravis Analog Pro was supposed to be a superior joystick. I was
thinking about getting one when I have the $$$. :-) Maybe you can send it back
to Gravis or the store for a exchange or repair.

I talked to a customer who had allegedly just gotten a gray market GUS MAX

I just got Return to Zork for Christmas. Does anyone know whether
this works with the ultrasound or not? I am unable to run sbos on my
computer. It is that NMI disabled problem. I have successfully gotten
megam and the miles drivers working with other games. Are these drivers
suitable for Return to Zork? Thanks.

I'm hoping (praying) that someone can help me with those two games with
the GUS. I can not get Strike Commander and Gabriel Knights to work with
the GUS at all. Could someone, in the spirt of the holiday season, help
me out with this?? Thanx a lot.
